Theo Sonnekus obtained a BA (Languages) Journalism and a BA (Hons): Visual Studies (cum laude) at the University of Pretoria in 2006 and 2007 consecutively. He is currently furthering his postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria, undertaking a MA: Visual Studies on the topic of ‘Invisible queers: investigating the ‘other’ Other in gay visual cultures’. His main research interests include the relationships between gay idenitity, race, gender and space in contemporary visual cultures. He has published articles and delivered papers on these topics.
